Spey Viaduct [Newtonmore]: A1 Pacific No.60163 'Tornado' leads 'The Great Britain XVII' over the Spey Viaduct at Newtonmore, on the way to Inverness from Edinburgh, on 30th April 2025. 47832 is on the rear.

Cruden Bay: There were small viaducts on both sides of Cruden Bay station. That to the south was in the hamlet of Nethermill and most of the embankment from the station is still in place leading to this abutment, seen on 15th April 2025. However the rest of the structure is demolished and there is no trace of the line on the opposite side of the road.

Cruden Bay: The station site at Cruden Bay was cleared many years ago but the Station House survives. Alongside the house driveway was the route of the hotel's electric tramway into the station forecourt. The goods yard had three sidings but the only thing to survive of the railway and tramway is Station House, and on my visit in April 2025 the old station site was identified for a housing development.

Bathgate Yard: In a shot believed to date from 27th October 1974 a Glasgow Queen St to Edinburgh working, diverted via Airdrie, passes through what was then the extensive yard at Bathgate. In the background can be seen the former MPD (64F), which dated from 1954, and Bathgate Central Junction Signal Box. The coal yard appears to still be busy and a couple of locomotives are stabled over the weekend nearby. Quite a number of wagons occupy the sidings but I wonder how many were stored?
