Burntisland East Junction: 43135 and 43034 pass the Links with the 09.05 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh in 25th June 2025. The Fair is in town.

Skipton: Rail Charter Services ran the Staycation Express for those tourists nervous of venturing abroad in 2020 (diesel locomotive haulage) and 2021 (refurbished short HST set). The leather seats and other retrimming were very nice, and we crossed 4 freights between Skipton and Carlisle; but AFAIK the service has not been repeated. My judgement was that it was somehow less than the sum of its parts. The distinctively liveried HST set pulls into Skipton with the 11.30 to Carlisle on 29th July 2021.

Ryde St John's Road: It is 21 September 1966 and O2 0-4-4T No. W31 'Chale' is moving off Ryde Shed and heading for Ryde Esplanade.

Barmouth Ferry: A replica of a Darjeeling Himalayan Railway locomotive named 'Sherpa' runs round the train at Barmouth Ferry station. Blue sky and sunshine all day on 18th June 2025, and just enough of a cool breeze for some exhaust.

Broughty Ferry: Efforts to improve safety at Broughty Ferry level crossing are being stepped up, as Network Rail and British Transport Police work together to raise awareness and encourage safe behaviour from both pedestrians and drivers. 

Edinchip Accommodation Bridge: A side view of the accommodation bridge near Edinchip. The bridge is almost certainly not safe to cross these days, but that hardly matters as there is no railway to cross over. This is a cast iron 'B' listed footbridge.

Mexborough: Mexborough has nice station buildings, as seen here on 25th June 2025. 66585 is working the 4L73 1118 Tinsley to London Gateway service towards Doncaster and was well loaded.
