Curriehill: Immaculate 57311 is on the rear of Saphos Trains' Edinburgh Summer Explorer, hauled by 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' on 16th July 2025.
East Grinstead (Bluebell Railway): A gleaming Rebuilt Battle of Britain 4-6-2 No 34059 'Sir Archibald Sinclair' has just arrived at East Grinstead on 13 April 2025. 'Archie' had tackled the hilly route from Sheffield Park with ease.
Peterborough: Table 18 workings in 'The Bible', as the All Line BR Timetable was known, vital for moves when out after loco haulage. Here is 31279, a March loco and regular on the Norwich - Birmingham circuit. This is the 1315 Birmingham to Norwich at Peterborough. The picture has lots of dreaded blue spot. Don't look to closely as, while I have removed the worst, there is plenty still present. Humidity and damp causes this and tends to be worse on Agfa which this one is. Tony boarded and went to March to look around the shed.
Prestwick: An unusual sight at Prestwick in 1970. The diverted southbound 'Thames Clyde Express' passes behind a ‘Peak’ Type 4.
Balgray: An artist's impression of the proposed £18.3million Balgray station, which is expected to open to in Autumn 2026.
Balgray: Ground is officially broken on the £18.3m Balgray station, marking the start of construction on a new rail link serving south Barrhead and its growing communities. In the photograph are: Craig Lafferty, Managing Director - Transportation, Story Contracting Limited; Margaret Gibb, Commercial Director, Network Rail; Jeremy Spence, Route Delivery Director, Network Rail; Caitriona McAuley, Director of Environment, East Renfrewshire Council; Michaela Sullivan, Head of Place, East Renfrewshire Council.
Westbury: As part of the 'Great Britain XVII' specials, 35028 'Clan Line' passed through Westbury on 26th April 2025 coming from the Salisbury direction towards Bath and Bristol Temple Meads.
Aigburth: Aigburth station, Hunts Cross-bound platform, Merseyrail Northern Line southern section, at 10.55 on Tuesday, 29th April 2025.
Southall: 50031 'Hood' passing Southall with 1F26, the 1415 Paddington to Oxford service, a rake of Network South east stock on 28th April 1990. Class 50s including 50031 were regular on the Paddington - Oxford services for a number of years in the Network South East days. Replaced by turbo units, the days of the 50s would soon be over.
Lochearnhead Viaduct: A view of the Lochearnhead Viaduct looking west up Glen Ogle - the Callander and Oban is above to the left.
Drumchapel: Recollection on the subject is vague, but I think that for a few seasons in the 1980s, a summer Sunday excursion ran from Edinburgh to Oban, using one of the weekday Edinburgh-Glasgow push pull sets accompanied by an ‘ETHEL’. This shot dates from July 1985 and shows one of these drawing to what I think was an unscheduled halt at Drumchapel. I'm afraid I did not keep note of the Class 37 number.
