Hoylake: 777032 with the ex-17.06 Merseyrail service from West Kirby to Liverpool Central, departing from its first stop at Hoylake at 17.08 on Monday, 28th April 2025.
Green Lane: 777043, Merseyrail Wirral Line to Chester, departing from the atmospheric Green Lane station, dating from 1886 and serving an area of Birkenhead, at 09.59 on Wednesday, 30th April 2025.
Kidsgrove: Kidsgrove station is staffed and managed by East Midlands Railway, whose trains operate from Crewe to Newark Castle. London Northwestern and Northern also operate regular stopping services that call here and Avanti and Cross Country trains pass through without stopping. On 4th June 2025, 221121 hurried through Platform 1 with a Bournemouth bound service. Platform 2 is for trains towards Manchester and forms a 'V' with Platform 3, which is for trains from Crewe towards Stoke. Platform 4 is for trains to Crewe.
Meadowhall: 150008, working a Huddersfield to Sheffield service, departs Meadowhall on the Barnsley line on 25th June 2025.
Achanalt: The trackbed at Achanalt was completely flooded on the 22nd of July, as seen in this Network Rail CCTV image.
Cupar: Between heavy downpours, 43152 leads the 13.11 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh into Cupar on 19th July 2025.
Macclesfield: 323223 pulls away from Macclesfield on 4th June 2025, after calling with a Piccadilly stopping service that originated in Stoke-on-Trent. With the cascade from West Midlands Trains, Northern now operates all the Class 323s that are still in service.
Kirkcaldy Harbour: Line down from Kirkcaldy station to the harbour on 8th July 2025. Bridge over the A921 long gone.
Lochearnhead Viaduct: Lochearnhead Viaduct, north west side, with Loch Earn in the background. Lochearnhead station was off to the right. The fir tree on the viaduct continues to grow.
Birkenhead Central: Birkenhead Central, looking towards Liverpool, at 13.02 on Wednesday, 30th April 2025. This station, at one time the Headquarters of the original Mersey Railway, opened on 1st February 1886 with the line from Green Lane, under the Mersey between Hamilton Square and James Street, and is now part of the Merseyrail Wirral Line.
