A line ran south from the Bothwell Junction to Whifflet [NB] line to East Parkhead Colliery Pits Nos 1 and 2. This colliery was also served by the Caledonian Railway from the south.
To the west was Bothwell Park Signal Box and to the north Bellshill [NB] station, just after passing over the CR route.
The signal box closed in 1931, with the closure of East Parkhead Colliery Pits Nos 1 and 2.
The line here was singled in 1945. The line closed completely from Bothwell Junction to Whifflet in 1955.
