This pit was at the end of the south east fork of the branch to the Drumshangie Colliery from Drumshangie Junction on the North Monkland Railway.
A tramway linked it to Drumshangie Colliery Pit No 11.
The pit was closed by 1910.
Much of the area has been opencast and although the junction site still exists the branch and colliery site is largely obliterated.
