A large single ended three road locomotive shed was built as part of the Second World War Faslane Military Port. It was located at Rowmore in the north west of the site close to where trains, arriving downhill from Faslane Junction, would terminate at Faslane Port station (passenger trains) or reverse to reach the yards, ramps and piers (goods trains).
The shed serviced both the locomotives arriving over a longer distance, via the West Highland Railway from Craigendoran Junction, and the yard shunters.
A house was immediately to the north west of the shed. It was bought by the War Department and incorporated into the port, finding itself in military use and surrounded by rails. By the time this part of the site was transferred to Metal Industries (Salvage) Ltd it had been demolished and the shed reduced to two roads.
The shed building does not survive.
