Greengairs Siding (1878-1964)

Opened on the North Monkland Railway.

Description

This was a public siding.

The single track here was looped, with a siding approached from the west on the westbound line.

An additional two loops were to the south, used for the Greengairs North Colliery which was to the immediate south of the line. There were removed before 1910 with closure of the colliery.

To the west was a short branch to Cameron Colliery No 1.

To the east was a branch to Langdales Pit No 1 which was also served by the Dykehead Branch of the Ballochney Railway.
