RAILSCOT | Gunnie South Signal Box

This signal box was at the south end of Gunnie Yard [1st] on the former Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway east of the Gartsherrie Iron Works.

To the west of the box was the west part of the yard, sidings approached from the north. To the east was the main line itself and the east yard, approached from the south. To the south of the box the approach to the southern part of Gartsherrie Iron Works branched off to the west.

Gartsherrie Iron Works, Gunnie Yard [1st] and the south box closed in 1967.

Since the closure of Gunnie Cement in 2006 the line is now derelict.
