Description

This station replaced Kinross [1st] when the Fife and Kinross Railway met the Kinross-shire Railway at Loch Leven, Kinross [3rd].

The station was renamed around the time of the opening of the Devon Valley Railway.

It was replaced by Kinross Junction [2nd], immediately to the north, on the opening of the Forth Bridge Railway.

Kinross Junction, the junction itself, remained open until closure of the Devon Valley Railway.

There was a signal box in the 'V' of the junction which was aligned with the main line. To the east a turntable was installed and there were sidings alongside the DVR on the west side.
