This two platform station opened to the north west of Kintore. In addition the railway, which had been reduced to a single track, was re-doubled in 2019 (see below).
The station includes a car park on its western side and a bus interchange. The station is fully accessible with a footbridge and lifts. It has 24, out of 168, parking bays with electric vehicle charging points.
The station site is north of the original Kintore [1st] station, the new station being built on the site of the former junction for Alford and a saw mill.
The line was doubled in 1882 between Kintore [1st] and Inveramsay. It was reduced to a single line between Dyce and Inverurie in 1969.
