Description

This power box was opened in 1962. It operated the Waverley Route and Millerhill Marshalling Yard (British Railways) between Niddrie West Junction (excluded) and Niddrie North Junction (excluded) to the north through to Hardengreen Junction (excluded) and Loanhead (excluded) to the south and Monktonhall Junction (excluded) to the east.

It subsumed the following boxes

The box was replaced with a new box of the same name in 1988, after further reductions of the yard and other alterations.
