Phoenix Tube Works

Description

This tube works was bounded to the west by Bridgeton Bank Yard, the north by the River Clyde, east by Dalmarnock Road and south by the Ferme Colliery branch from Rutherglen (Farme Colliery Junction). The works was served by sidings to the south, Menzie's Siding. Further sidings were added on the west and east sides. The works had its own locomotives.

It became a warehouse for British Steel Corporation's Tubes Division.

The works is closed. The site is now a supermarket.

The Clydesdale Tube Works [Rutherglen] was to the north.
