Description

This print works was owned by Muir and Brown. The works is found in the post office directories for Glasgow of the 1860s and 1880s but is no longer mapped by 1892.

In 1861 the Dalmarnock Branch (Caledonian Railway) opened over the River Clyde, the line passing the western side of the works. The line terminating nearby at Bridgeton Goods.

The Dalmarnock Branch Extension (Caledonian Railway) opened north to London Road Goods [Glasgow] in 1877, extending north from Strathclyde Junction.

The name Strathclyde also survives in the name Strathclyde Street, a road which crossed the railway to the north of Strathclyde Junction and the Strathclyde Foundry, a former works to the west of the railway.
