Plantation Quay

Description

This general cargo quay was on the south bank of the River Clyde. The Princes Dock was developed to the south. The eastern end of the quay was served by sidings from the General Terminus and Glasgow Harbour Railway and the Princes Dock Joint Railway (Caledonian Railway, North British Railway and Glasgow and South Western Railway).

In 1911 the berth allocations were
65 For Antwerp
67, 69, 71, 73 & 75 Allan Line for the United States of America and Canada
77 For general use
79 Prentice, Service & Henderson for traffic to the West Indies
81 & 83 For general use. 81 had a 60 ton crane
