Stobcross Quay

Opened on the Stobcross Railway.
Opened on the Queens Dock Railway Lines.

Description

This quay was on the north bank of the River Clyde opposite Plantation Quay. At the east end of the quay is the Stobcross Crane used to load locomotives onto ships. (This was not the only quay used for this, locomotives were also exported through Plantation Quay on the opposite, south, bank of the Clyde.) Some dockside lines remain, disconnected from the network. The Queens Dock was developed to the north of the quay.

To the east was Finnieston Quay and to the west, beyond the entry into the Queens Dock, Yorkhill Quay.

In 1911 berth allocation was
52 & 54 Crane berths, served by the Stobcross Crane 56, 58, 60, 62 & 64 general cargo
66, 68 & 70 Anchor Line for India
