Description

This works consisted of an engine shed, joiners shop, engine shed and smithy. It was on a triangular piece of land on the south side of Perth Road and its junction with Airlie Place. Turntables connected the different parts of the works, in particular splitting the lines which ran into the engine shed (five roads). Approach was from the south, a curving line which crossed the mudflats (later infilled) and met the Dundee and Perth Railway east of the Dundee terminus.

When the Scottish Central Railway took over repair work was transferred to the Perth Railway Works.

The engine shed was replaced by Dundee West Shed.
