Today (13th June 2022), Brodie Engineering is pleased to announce the official opening of its Caledonia Works in Kilmarnock which it acquired in 2020. The beginnings of the historic site of the Caledonia Works dates from around 1847 and following its closure in March 2020 Brodie Engineering was pleased several months later in August 2020 to buy the rail engineering site preserving its future for rail engineering in Kilmarnock and Scotland. Brodie Engineerings Caledonia Works and its Bonnyton Rail Depot which are strategically placed as neighbours on either side of the Kilmarnock rail track are some of Scotland's last dedicated rail engineering works.

Brodie Engineering acknowledges the professionalism of Wabtec Rail Scotland in the management of the transaction. The facility will allow Brodie Engineering to continue to expand its activities in Kilmarnock. Work will continue at Bonnyton Rail Depot along with this expansion.
