Having signed terms of lease for 17 acres of MoD land at the Eastriggs complex in Dumfriesshire, facilities provider Rail Sidings Limited says it is looking to receive its first rail vehicles for storage before Christmas, and hopes to develop the locomotive shed to accommodate refurbishments, modifications and installation of new technology on rail vehicles. It claims to have received a number of enquiries about railfreight, and is working with colleges and academies to develop training opportunities for young people.
