One of the few sections of the Garstang and Knott End Railway trackbed that can still be clearly seen in 2008 is this stretch immediately west of the A6. This view is towards Nateby Crossing Cottage, (see image 18317) taken from the former bridge over the line, which closed to passengers in 1930 and completely in 1963. To the east of here the trackbed is built over until it emerges on the other side of Garstang near the river. Map Ref SD 485457.
