Reddish Shed
The very first loco on BR to be renumbered under the TOPS scheme was a Class 76, 1500v DC Woodhead Electric. The former E26050 Stentor became 76050 - and I visited Reddish in 1971 specially to photograph it. All the other EM1s on this date still had E-prefix numbers. 76050 later became 76038 before its eventual withdrawal in 1981.
