Hopetown Carriage Works
Looking west from Darlington North Road station towards Hopetown Lane on 4 October 2008. The green open space was once part of Darlington Works scrapyard see image 23689. The white building is the former Hopetown Carriage Works, built for the Stockton & Darlington Railway in 1853. Having been used to build 60163 Tornado, completed in 2008, the site is currently the works site for the under construction P2 2-8-2 no 2007 Prince of Wales. (See https://www.p2steam.com/)
