Monte
Monte cable car station, nearly two thousand feet above the Madeiran capital of Funchal, at the end of a two mile run from the coast that takes around twenty minutes. The gondolas can carry up to 800 persons per hour, which will be considerably more than the old steam rack railway that closed in 1943.
