Ulverston Canal Rolling Bridge

The Rolling Bridge in a seaward view along the Ulverston Canal in January 2023. The bridge carried trains on the Bardsea Branch of the Furness Railway until 1994 but closed to navigation after WWII. The building on the right is the old accumulation tower that supported the bridge's operation, although an adjoining engine house was demolished in the 1950s. The accumulation tower, like the bridge itself, is now Grade II listed.
