Around the old Ashton Hall private halt there are the remains of several occupation crossings. This one, nearly in Aldcliffe, is probably the best preserved with three of the four stone gate posts and the remains of one gate. This is the view towards Lancaster, alongside the Lune Estuary, on a wet 3rd April 2024 when for once the well used old Glasson Branch cycleway was pretty quiet.
