Diggle
TPE 802208, Liverpool to Newcastle, approaches the site of Diggle station, and Standedge Tunnel, on 19th June 2024. The loop on the right is still operational but the rails were quite rusty. On the left were once the slow lines, the trackbed now used as an access road by Network Rail. In the distance is Diggle Junction signal box, presently operational despite the resignalling but it will not survive electrification.
