Shawclough and Healey

Walking down the trackbed from Healey Dell Viaduct towards Rochdale it comes to a sudden end by this old bridge. Cyclists and horses should leave just before this point but pedestrians can cross the new footbridge and continue down a 'ginnel' emerging onto the small housing estate that has been built on the site of Shawclough and Healey station. On the far side of the houses the old railway embankment can be picked up again and the railway followed down to Wardleworth.
