Kirkcaldy: Kirkcaldy station, looking north, at 12.13 on Sunday, 2nd June 2024. It was opened by the Edinburgh & Northern Railway on 20th June 1847 and rebuilt by British Railways in 1964. A fire in the late 1980s destroyed the southbound platform which had to be rebuilt from scratch and this and its buildings reopened in 1991.
Dundee Central Junction: The 09.05 Aberdeen - Edinburgh starts away from Dundee station on 18th June 2024, headed by 43168.
Allt Coire Chaorach Viaduct: Underside of one of the spans of the viaduct over the Allt Coire Chaorach between Crianlarich and Luib.
Castleton South Junction: 66112 runs towards Manchester with a 'Binliner' service for Knowesley near Kirkby on 17th April 2024. The train is just south of the Castleton triangle passing through Slattocks, where there have been many proposals for a new station but they have yet to come to fruition. In the foreground is the overflow to the Second Laneside Lock on the Rochdale Canal, which closely follows the line between Castleton and Mills Hill.
Skell Bridge: A view looking north east to the substantial, former railway, three arch stone bridge over the River Skell, and an access road at each side, around 3/4 mile south of the former Ure Viaduct, and Ripon station. After closure it had a new wider deck laid as part of the creation of the A61 Ripon south and east by-pass. The original bridge parapets appear to have been re-erected on the new deck.
Weybourne: Lovely station but hardly an Eastern scene as a GWR loco, 2-8-0T 4277, arrives at Weybourne with a train for Holt.
Kirkcaldy: 170428, Aberdeen to Edinburgh Waverley, calling at Kirkcaldy at 14.55, 7 minutes late, on Sunday, 2nd June 2024.
March: Small town FLIRT - the 20.09 to Colchester calls at March. Very basic facilities, but a photographic location I have not tried before.
