Barnes Viaduct: Barnes Viaduct, immediately to the north of Stobs station, on 17th November 2024. The station entrance was part way up the hill on the lane beyond the arch.

Ashington: The disused platforms at Ashington station, closed in 1964, looking north from the new platform for the reopened Northumberland Line, at 12.31 on the First Day of the restored service, Sunday, 15th December 2024. A visit by bus from Morpeth to Ashington and its old station on 15th June 2018 revealed the disused platforms still in place but minus all buildings. Kittybrewster [2nd]: Kittybrewster South signal box photographed in 1968. The box is recorded as closing on 28th May 1967. The line going off under the bridge is the branch to Waterloo Goods.

Dundurn Viaduct: Looking west at Kindrochet. The very slight gatepost in the foreground is typical of the lightweight fencing along the line, some of which survives intact. There would have been a short respite for the traincrew through these level fields after the twisting section west of Dalchonzie and before the climb up from Tynreoch to St Fillans.

Cowdenbeath: A view out the DMU shows 40158 approaching with a departmental crane for Thornton Junction. At this time daytime services terminated here only a few peak hours services went on to Cardenden.
