Northumberland Park: Tyne & Wear Metro unit 4032 with 4069, from South Shields to St. James via the coast, arriving at Northumberland Park at 13.08 on Monday, 16th December 2024. The train is passing the incomplete single platform, just visible on the right, for the Ashington line, reopened the previous day but this station is not yet ready but expected to open in 2025, creating a very convenient interchange.

Appleby: The mid-winter sun was casting long shadows on Colas Rail 70802 as it approached the platforms at Appleby station on Saturday 21st December 2024, working the 1246 Carlisle Yard to Chirk Kronospan logs service. 70802 spent a long period of time out of action between August 2022 and May 2023 but is now back to being a regular sighting across the rail network.

Bodmin Road: D1028 'Western Hussar' arrives at Bodmin Road with 1A49, the 1205hrs Penzance to Paddington service on 7th March 1976. The signal box here was often switched out on a Sunday, the section then was Lostwithiel to Largin. The loco was withdrawn in October that year.

Beattock: On a dull June evening in 1988, 56067 pulls away from the sidings at Beattock heading for Mossend with a couple of wagons loaded with timber, which will speed past again next day as part of the consist of the Mossend - Dee Marsh Enterprise working. The shot is a touch hazy but in the background can be seen a number of empty wagons dropped off by the northbound working.

Pelaw: Tyne & Wear Metro unit to South Shields, departing from Pelaw at 15.22 on Monday, 16th December 2024. This is the junction for the South Shields and South Hylton T & W branches with trains on the latter sharing the National Rail tracks between Pelaw and Sunderland.
