Bewdley: It's Highley unlikely to see a steam engine and an HST power car (one of two Rail Adventure locos stored here, with a European number far too long to write down) in the same shot. GWR 0-4-2T 1450 was assisting 20007 in the Winter Diesel Day, 30th December 2024.

Winchcombe: Taking advantage of that glowing light in the dull sky, we headed across the Cotswolds to visit the G&WR on 29th December 2024. There were two engines in steam: 7820 'Dinmore Manor' a GWR 4-6-0, and 3850 a GWR 2-8-0 freight loco. This is the latter departing Winchcombe tender first.

Bay Horse: Brand new Avanti Evero electric unit 807005 speeds into the cutting at Forton, running as 5Q15 from York to Wembley Depot on 11th February 2025. 807005 was being delivered to Avanti and, presumably, running via Edinburgh and Carlisle as these new Hitachi units do allows pre-acceptance mileage accumulation. As at February 2025, only two further trains in the current order, 807009 and 807010, have yet to be delivered.

Handforth: In addition to two large old signs by the Up platform at Handforth, this running in board is mounted next to the Down. It was probably originally sited at the end of a platform but the Friends of Handforth Station have mounted it in a frame nearer to the middle, along with other historic information boards. This view towards Manchester on 6th January 2025.

Borthwick Bank Signal Box: Yet another photograph I should have taken when it was still open ..... Borthwick Bank signal box in August 1968 about a month or so after it closed on 7th July. Other than lengthening the block section from Hardengreen southbound this closure directly affected the 17.11 Edinburgh - Gorebridge working, which now had to run to Heriot to crossover then return to Eskbank where it formed a service to Edinburgh.
