Southport: Steamport open day, with static exhibits on show in the old L&YR motive power depot, in September 1982. On the right is Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST 'Efficient', which worked at McKechnie Bro's copper smelting works in Widnes and moved to Southport in 1973 when the works closed. On the left is Hudswell Clarke 0-4-0 'Waleswood' No.750 both of these locos were moved to Preston when Steamport closed.
Buxton: 60046 'William Wilberforce' stabled at Buxton in 1992.
Buxton [Midland Railway]: This wall is the only remnant of the Midland Railway station in Buxton; as you can see from the presence of the blue car on the left, a road has been built over part of the trackbed approach. Speaking of approaches, the street name Station Approach seems appropriate. Be warned that if you walk around Buxton, you may need a personal banker to push you uphill!
Dalguise Viaduct: Dalguise Viaduct seen during severe flooding in October 2023.
Bermuda Park: Not something you see every day - passenger services here are normally on fixed diagrams between Leamington Spa and Nuneaton. Presumably due to engineering work near Nuneaton station, trains from the South disgorged their passengers onto a waiting bus to Nuneaton station, then ran ECS to the crossovers at Chilvers Coton Junction; which is not very photogenic from public access, as it is located on a tall and tree-lined embankment. 196001 is the unit in this picture on 9th February 2025.
Broadway: Broadside view of GWR 4-6-0 7820 'Dinmore Manor', in lined black early BR livery, heading south from Broadway on 29th December 2024.
Innerpeffray: View looking towards the site of Innerpeffray station, now a house, showing the curved trackbed of the Crieff to Perth line.
Goostrey: A little snow at Goostrey on 6th January 2025 as 323205 calls on a stopping service from Piccadilly to Crewe. This unit is a recent cascade from the West Midlands and has already received Northern vinyls but the interior is unchanged grey and orange upholstery rather than Northern's blue.
