Thrumpton West Junction: A busy moment at Whisker Hill Junction in 2001. 66055 has passed through Retford Low Level and is heading west with a train of oil tanks, thought to have originated at West Burton Power Station, whilst 66179 waits to follow it to Worksop with a train of sand from Middleton Towers to Barnby Dun.
Stockport: Stockport is a hive of freight and on Monday 17th February 2025 GB Railfreight 66754 'Northampton Saints' passes through platform 3 working 4H61 1035hrs Small Heath Lafarge to Hindlow.
Wemyss Bay: MV ‘Saturn’ crossing the Firth towards Wemyss Bay on a fine summer evening in 1979. The photograph was taken from the ‘Glen Sannox’, heading for Gourock after a cruise to Tarbert, Loch Fyne (see image [[92028]]).
Valleyfield Colliery: LSL's 37409 passes the site of Valleyfield Colliery, closed in 1978, with a route learning trip on 4th March 2025.
Emerson Park: 710105, London Overground, Romford to Upminster, approaching Emerson Park, the only intermediate stop on the short ex-LTSR single track branch line, dating from 1893 (Emerson Park did not open until 1909 as Emerson Park Halt), where one train just shuttles back and forth, at 14.44 on Tuesday, 18th February 2025. This line became a completely detached part of the London Overground on 31st May 2015, several miles east of the rest of the LO network.
Tonbridge: 35028 'Clan Line' with the Dover to Victoria 'Belmont Pullman' at Tonbridge, now just on the move and looking great in the spring sunshine of 6th March 2025.
Methven: On approach to the terminus at Methven the Perth, Almond Valley and Methven Railway followed the twisting defile of the Methven Burn. This view looks south showing the portion of line between Burnside and Tippermallo. The former Crieff and Methven line would have been in the distance.
Mossley Hill: A view towards Liverpool at Mossley Hill as a 4-car Sprinter calls at Platform 1 (of 4) with a Lime Street to Manchester Oxford Rd via Warrington service on 5th February 2025. Between Mossley Hill and Edge Hill were two further stations, Sefton Park, which closed in 1960, and Wavertree, which closed in 1958. Both have been cleared away at track level but there are proposals to reopen Sefton Park.
