Farington Curve Junction: Northern 150103 leaves the WCML at Farington Curve Junction, taking the single line to Ormskirk on 9th April 2025, working 2F46 1210 Preston to Ormskirk. The journey between Preston and Ormskirk takes roughly thirty minutes and trains call at Croston, Rufford and Burscough Junction on the way.
Kibworth: The Midland Main line from St Pancras as I liked it back in the day of Peaks. 45145 on a St Pancras to Sheffield service heads north at Kibworth on 30th May 1978. The May Blossom is well in evidence
Newtonmore: Joint Branch Line Society / Scottish Railway Preservation Society Railtour approaching Newtonmore, ten minutes early, on 1st March 2025. Double headed by 37403 'Isle of Mull' and 37401 'Mary Queen of Scots'.
Clifton and Lowther: Preparatory excavations under the WCML bridge over the M6 Motorway between Clifton and Penrith, visible from the northbound carriageway on 11th April 2025. The sixty year old bridge is to be completely replaced during 2025.
London Waterloo: New 701043, South Western Railway approaching London Waterloo, seen from 455 5865 just departed with the 12.17 SWR service to Chessington South, on Saturday, 5th April 2025.
Almondbank Naval Stores: View north looking to Royal Naval Store Depot Almondbank. The sidings came curving in from the right, where the exchange sidings were located, and served several looped sidings on the far side of the nearer sheds. The depot extended further north over the River Almond. The sidings were closed in 1962.
Carlisle Kingmoor Shed: Royal Scot 4-6-0 No 46115 'Scots Guardsman'] leads a line up of locos at Carlisle Kingmoor Shed on 29 May 1966. 46115 is of course still with us.
