Little Sutton: The attractive Little Sutton station, dating from 1863, seen from 777001 calling with a Merseyrail Wirral Line service from Ellesmere Port to Liverpool Central, at 10.45 on Wednesday, 29th April 2025.

Heaton Lodge Junction: On Friday (20 June), Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) engineers completed the latest series of upgrade work between Huddersfield and Leeds.

Shawforth: About halfway down the 1:40 bank between Britannia and Shawforth is this footbridge, a notable survivor as it doesn't really lead anywhere and last saw a train over seventy years ago. It would have been a great place to watch an L

Lumphinnans Central Junction: A1 60163 'Tornado' passes the former junction with a private Northern Belle charter from Glasgow Central - Edinburgh - Fife - Stirling - Glasgow Central. 57313 provides back up power on the rear.

Crumlin High Level: On an October day in 1978, there is not a lot to be seen at the site of Crumlin High Level station which closed with the line in June 1964. Still visible however are the abutments of Crumlin Viaduct which survived the demolition of the famous structure in 1965/66.

Cefn Viaduct: 197042 crossing the impressive Cefn Mawr Viaduct on the 19th May 2025 working 1V98 16:29 Holyhead to Cardiff Central.

Ystrad Mynach: 50031 'Hood' is at the rear of a hauled service to provide extra capacity due to Rugby at Cardiff in 1999. There were some regular local hauled services to Rhymney for a number of years with various different locomotives provided, especially Class 37s towards the end. As far as I can recall, 50031 had some regular work on this route for a while. In BR days the only 50s seen on any of the valleys routes were on railtours.

Edinchip Viaduct [C and O]: A 1993 view looking south from the C&O line's curve into Glen Ogle. Frustratingly a lot a tree growth blocked the view of Loch Earn on the left.

Penistone: Not been to Penistone for years, and the place is unrecognisable from the Woodhead days. 150004 has a Sheffield to Huddersfield service calling on 25th June 2025.
