Opened on the Glenfarg Line (North British Railway). This two platform station was immediately west of the junction between the lines to Ladybank and Glenfarg. The junction was controlled by a signal box in the 'V' of the junction, aligned to the Glenfarg route (opened around 1890 for the new route, 1890, and station, 1892).
The platform buildings were of the North British Railway style still to be found at a number of stations such as Dalmeny.
The older route east to Newburgh [2nd] was singled in 1933. The Glenfarg route closed altogether in 1970. In 1972 the line to Perth, Hilton Junction, was singled and the box closed.
A single track line remains open here today but there is no station in Bridge of Earn.
