Dee Viaduct (1850-)Opened on the Aberdeen Railway.
Description
This is a double track arched and girder viaduct. The overall length is 283 yards and it is 50 ft high. The central portion consists of six girder sections over the River Dee and roadways, and with five arches at the north end. It is also known as the Ferryhill Viaduct.
The girder sections were originally wooden.
Ferryhill MPD was at the north end. Craiginches Yard is at the south/east end.
A temporary signal box was located here in 1913. The Craiginches Yard, just to the east, opened in 1912.
