Opened on the Thirdpart Junction to Mayfield Junction (Glasgow and South Western Railway).

Description

This oil depot received regular deliveries from Grangemouth until recently (2018). The depot is at Riccarton, south of Kilmarnock on a branch from Kay Park Junction, the remains of lines which also ran west to Thirdpart Junction and east to Mayfield Junction.

The depot consists of two sidings after a loop at the end of the single track branch.

The location is a Scottish Fuels distribution depot.

The location was the goods yard, specifically the goods shed, for Riccarton and Craigie station. It was east of that station, on the north side of the line and approached from the east. The former line is now the A71. The yard became the oil depot around 1970. The goods yard closed officially in 1965.
