This halt was just south of Lossiemouth. It served a Second World War rifle range. Largely used by the Territorial Army.
The rifle range was some way east of the halt. It was in the large military installation east of the River Lossie running along the dunes as far east as Garmouth. To the south was Milltown Airfield.
The site of the halt was overgrown, although a rail mounted vertically in the ground remains alongside the road. In recent years the undergrowth has been cut back and the former trackbed is now walkable.
There is a popular walking route, part of the Moray Coast Trail , from Lossiemouth along the beach east to Garmouth which passes the former military site.
