Name and dates

Cummingston (1892-1904)

Opened on the Hopeman Branch (Highland Railway).

Description

This was a single platform station with the platform on the south side of the line. There was a shelter and, at the west end of the platform, a signal box which opened with the station in 1892.

Opposite the platform was a loading bank siding, served from the west.

The box and station closed in 1904.

To the east was a siding for Greenbrae Quarry, a sand quarry. The siding was on the south side of the line, served from the west, and with a tramway south west to the quarry itself.

The line closed to passengers in 1931 and completely in 1957.

The trackbed is now a footpath. The bridge over the line, which was to the west of the station, still stands.
