Hopeman (1892-1931)Opened on the Hopeman Branch (Highland Railway).
Description
This was a single platform terminus with a loop. The station building is in Highland Railway style. The platform was on the north side of the loop. Approach was from the west.
The goods yard was north of the station, with a goods shed and loading banks.
The signal box was south of the west end of the loop. It opened with the station in 1892. It was reduced to a ground frame in 1928.
The station closed to passengers in 1931. In 1951 the station was drastically cut back to the platform line and one loading bank siding, which must have made it operationally awkward as the loop was taken out.
The line closed in 1957.
The platform and station building still exist.
The trackbed, running west from the station, is now the Moray Coast Trail .
