Description

This was an island platform station with a building typical of the Lanarkshire and Dumbartonshire Railway. The line was on a raised embankment.

The signal box was at the west end on the south side of the line and opened with the station.

To the east, on the south side of the line, were sidings for Yoker Power Station which were expanded over the years.

The west end of the station crossed Green Road on a bridge.
The goods yard was on the north side of the line connected to a line which served East Barns of Clyde Shipyard until construction of the Rothesay Dock. Latterly a link was put in to Yoker Distillery, partly using a line which had formerly approached from Yoker to the north.

The east end of the station was built on a bridge over the Rothesay Dock Branch (North British Railway and Caledonian Railway) with Green Road Signal Box to the west where the lines fanned out into the yard serving the dock and Clydebank Dock West Junction to the east where the line from Scotstoun West Junction (the Caledonian Railway connection) met the line from Clydebank Dock East Junction (the North British Railway connection.

The station was later known as Yoker Ferry for Renfrew.

The station closed to passengers in 1964. The box closed in 1966. The railway closed in 1978 when a new connection was laid in to the western portion from Clydebank Central Junction.

The station remains, derelict and without its building. The island platform is mostly intact and stands on the bridge over the closed Rothesay Dock line. The bridge carrying the western part of the station over Greenlaw Road has been removed.
