A busy Metro line in Newcastle and North Tyneside is to close for four days next week to allow for the emergency renewal of overhead wires that were damaged by the recent heatwaves. The line between South Gosforth and Shiremoor will be shut from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September.
