Hawarden Bridge: 230010, one of a fleet of five owned by Transport for Wales for Borderlands Line services, pauses at the Hawarden Bridge request stop on 16th October 2024. Three of these hybrid battery/diesel trains are needed daily to maintain the 45 minute interval service between Bidston and Wrexham but for much of October two of the three diagrams were being operated by TfW Class 197 DMUs.

Chingford: This bridge carries what is now the London Overground Chingford to Liverpool Street line between Chingford (to the north, right) and Highams Park (to the south, left) and dates from 1971, replacing Hatch Lane level crossing with Hatch Lane itself diverted under the bridge. Seen here through the front upstairs windows of a no. 212 bus from Chingford Station to Walthamstow Central, at 14.40 on Monday, 28th October 2024. A station at Chingford Hatch, south of the former level crossing, was once proposed by the GER but it was never built. It would come in useful these days as the line here is surrounded by housing.

Strowan Tunnel: Looking north through Strowan Tunnel. Both ends of the tunnel are blocked with metal fences but a nearby road provides an alternative. On the approach to both portals the trackbed was pretty flooded.
