Berlin Alexanderplatz: Trams aplenty. Here is 9093a near Berlin Alexanderplatz in September 2024. I stayed near here in the Park Hotel, very central for touring around.

Newton for Hyde: John McIntyre photographed the attractive, stone ticket office at Newton for Hyde in 2022 (see image [[83080]]). Inside the entrance hall is this tiled staircase up to the Manchester platform. To the right of this, through a tiled subway, a similar staircase leads to the Glossop bound platform.

Appleby East: Appleby East Goods Shed can just about be made out amongst the clapped-out cars in the scrap metal yard that was once Appleby East station, on the old Eden Valley Railway from Penrith to Kirkby Stephen. The line closed in 1962 to passengers but the section of line from Appleby to Warcop remained open to serve the army camp at Warcop until 1982 when the land was sold off.

Corkerhill Shed: Fresh from the works, Ivatt Class 4MT 2-6-0 No 43049 is at Corkerhill Shed on 20 June 1964. It has an unidentified BR Standard 5MT 4-6-0 for company.

Saltburn Cliff Lift Upper Station: The operator of the Saltburn Cliff Tramway is a study in concentration as he controls the docking of the Saltburn side car at the top station. Although the basic mechanical principles of its operation in 1924 are maintained, the electronic safety and monitoring systems in place can be seen to be very much 21st century.

Comrie Viaduct: The view ahead: a view from Twenty Shilling Wood looking west towards Dalchronzie and St Fillans. The road (A85) and railway went west together, the railway on the south side of the road (just off to its left in this view). A portion of the line has been landscaped north of Tullybannocher for about quarter of a mile, so I'm afraid there's only a field to be seen where the railway was.

Knockshinnoch Washery: A misty morning at Knockshinnoch, at the start of April 2005, as 66064 gets ready for departure with 6R54, the 10.55 Knockshinnoch - Ayr. This location closed in 2006 as far as I am aware.
