Renfrew Ferry: On her way down river from Bridge Wharf during her final month of service on the Clyde, TS ‘Queen Mary’ passes the Renfrew Ferry.
Warrington Central: 156416 pauses under the canopies at Warrington Central with a stopping service from Manchester Oxford Road to Liverpool Lime Street on 5th November 2024. The Sprinter had just done an unexpected little 'track bash' having been looped at Glazebrook East Junction to allow a late running Norwich to Liverpool service to overtake it. See image [[36029]] from the same spot in 1988.
Hayling Island: Hayling Island was the terminus of a short branch from Havant and closed to both passenger and goods traffic on 4th November 1963. The site remained more or less derelict until redevelopment took place in the 1970s but the building and canopy were still in situ in this shot from 1971.
Maesteg: The then recently re -opened new station at Maesteg in October 1993. 150279 is seen on a nice sunny morning .
Monkwearmouth: Viewed from St Peters Metro station, three flasks from Seaton-on-Tees Nuclear to Sellafield trundle through the old Monkwearmouth station on 2nd December 2024.
Crystal Palace: The splendid Victorian exterior of the former Low Level Crystal Palace station, dating from 1854, at 12.15 on Saturday, 23rd November 2024, 170 years after its opening. This is rather inconveniently sited, quite a way down Anerley Hill away from the shopping district which is actually Upper Norwood but still called after Paxton's masterpiece which tragically burnt down in November 1936. The quite separate High Level station, closed in 1954 and demolished in 1961, was much more conveniently situated at the top of the hill alongside Crystal Palace Parade, just around the corner from the shops and pubs.
Dalchonzie Viaduct: This view looks east towards the signal box at Dalchonzie over the River Earn viaduct.
North Pier [Tram]: Twin Car 672/682 leaves North Pier heading for the Pleasure Beach in 2010. This set was withdrawn at the end of the following year when the tramway closed for rebuilding but was taken into the heritage fleet and repainted in the old Blackpool all-over cream livery. It operated from 2014 to 2016 on heritage tours but suffered an electrical fire on 24th September while climbing from Gynn Square to Cabin and has not operated since.
