This was the crane works of George Russel and Co. The works produced cranes, often large self propelled rail cranes running on lines with a larger gauge than standard. The works was alongside the Clyde Boiler Works (to the west) and approached by a siding from the Park Street Level Crossing where the line into Dalzell Steel Works left the West Coast Main Line at Motherwell Junction.
The works advertised its ability to manufacture light locomotives in 1866, a year after opening.
