A series of quarries were served by the Caledonian Railway north of Locharbriggs station on the Lockerbie to Dumfries line.
This quarry was served from the south by sidings from the station and was located on the west side of the line.
Building stone from here was used for the 'Caledonian Hotel', Edinburgh Princes Street.
