The Maid of the Loch paddle steamer will be open to visitors free of charge this Saturday as part of Scotland's annual Doors Open Days festival.

The last paddle steamer to be built in Britain is set to be winched out of the waters of Loch Lomond for the first time in 40 years this week.

Plans for a new £30m tourist development at Loch Lomond have been unveiled. The proposals include a 60-bedroom apart-hotel, 32-bedroom budget accommodation, a craft brewery, boat house, leisure centre and restaurants.
