A very special exhibition is now open to visitors at one of Northern's stations in the north east.

Haltwhistle: That is a nice bit of varnished wood on the Haltwhistle footbridge, but the signal box could do with a clean. The train is heading for Carlisle, on 15th April 2022. Northern is advising customers not to travel on routes between Carlisle and Skipton due to the availability of replacement buses this weekend.

Northern Rail are advising passengers not to travel from Carlisle on services to Haltwhistle and Appleby.

Work has started on a project which will see two redundant rail buildings at the Haltwhistle railway station transformed.

Coming towards the end of May, TVCRP is almost there with the platform 2 building. Baseplate, corner posts, floor and external walls have been repaired or replaced as necessary. The structure was built in 1907 with external walls made of wood with wood cladding on the inside.
